Zoom Poker Strategy

When it comes to play the recently released Zoom Poker on PokerStars, you'll find that the strategy behind the game can be quite a bit different than playing any other type of poker that you've ever played before. The general idea behind the game is that it is incredibly fast paced, and that you can see a ton of hands in a very short period of time as well. Now, it's important to remember though that just because you CAN see a ton of hands quickly, doesn't mean that you HAVE to. The strategy behind Zoom Poker isn't simply to "fold until you get a monster", but instead it's a lot about playing position and playing big hands.

As far as playing position goes, if you are sitting on the button or in late position, you could be in a great spot to three-bet an original raiser, or to raise the blinds and take them down pretty easily. You'll find that more often than not, players who play this game are in it to play fast and only play huge hands, which means that you could take down the smaller pots all day and just continue to build up your chip stack slowly! Often times if a player in late position makes a raise and you three bet them, unless they have a monster they are going to fold their hand because they can go see another hand one second later, so always remember that.

As far as playing big hands goes, this is where you have to do your best to draw action from other players. Three betting pre-flop with a monster like pocket Aces or pocket Kings isn't a very good idea because (as previously mentioned) your opponent is likely to just lay down their hand quickly. Let your opponent continue to bet into you, and hopefully bluff off their chips if you hit a monster hand like three of a kind, a straight, or a flush as well!

It can definitely be tough to slow down your play in this incredibly fast paced game, but some of the best Zoom Poker players out there are the ones who can slow down their own action when they need to in order to make sure that they win as many small pots as well as big pots. Any pot is crucial, so try don't overlook those small pots, because they can be the difference between a winning and losing day!
